How Paste & Replace Works

This is a writing improvement tool that automatically detects weak verb + adverb combinations in your text and suggests stronger, more precise verbs as replacements. Paste or type your text into the editor above, and any weak verb + adverb pairs will be highlighted automatically.

Why Replace Adverbs?

Phrases like "walked slowly" or "said quietly" can often be replaced with a single, stronger verb — "ambled" or "whispered." This tightens your prose and makes your writing feel more alive and engaging. Instead of telling the reader how something was done, a precise verb shows it. "She crept down the hallway" paints a clearer picture than "she moved quietly down the hallway."

Using the Tool

Click any highlighted word to see a list of stronger verb suggestions. Pick the one that best fits your context, and the replacement is made instantly. Use the shuffle button to randomly replace all highlighted pairs at once, or the undo button to revert changes. When you're happy with the result, the copy button saves your improved text to the clipboard.
